What to expect

1. You’ll start with an intake process

Before we match you with a clinician, we’ll schedule a brief intake call to understand your needs, insurance, and preferences (like in-person vs. telehealth).

Be prepared to share basic info like:

  • Your reason for seeking help
  • Any past experience with therapy
  • Your insurance provider
  • Your availability

2. We accept MassHealth and most commercial insurances

If you’re unsure whether your plan is covered, our team can help check. Private pay options are available, but must be discussed in advance.

3. Therapy is a commitment,
not a quick fix

CSI works best with clients who are ready to show up and grow. That doesn’t mean you need to have it all figured out—just that you’re open to the process.

4. Telehealth and in-person
sessions are available

Depending on your needs and comfort, you can meet with clinicians via secure video or in one of our offices in Greater Springfield or Greater Boston. Home-based services are available, on request.

5. You’ll receive paperwork and portal access

After intake, we’ll send forms for consent, insurance, and medical history. You may also get a link to our patient portal.

  • Please complete forms as soon as possible to avoid delays.
  • If you need help, we can walk you through it.

6. Parents and guardians involvement

For children and teens, we often include parents or caregivers in the planning and progress of care. We also coordinate with schools and IEP teams when helpful.

7. You’ll be expected to attend regularly

Showing up matters—for your progress, for your clinician’s schedule, and for the healing relationship we’re building. No-shows or late cancellations can disrupt your care.

8. It’s okay to be nervous or unsure

Many people come to us wondering: “Do I even need therapy?” or “What if I don’t connect with my therapist?” We get it. And we’re here to work with you—not judge you.

9. You’re not alone in this

Whether you’re reaching out for the first time or starting again, we’ll meet you where you are. With patience, empathy, and a real plan for moving forward.
